JOB DESCRIPTION
Material Salesclerk
As one of the larger heavy highway and general contracting companies in the Chattanooga and, North Georgia area, and a leader in quality performance, Talley Construction understands that outstanding people are key to our success. The Material Salesclerk is responsible for recording accounts payable for the company's large volume of aggregates. This includes deliveries to three plants and various jobs. Computer skills, attention to detail, team player and strong follow-through are a must.
Duties will include:
- Record incoming materials deliveries. Note all plant deliveries must be entered by end of the month for inventory purposes.
- Verify pricing and enter material tickets into MS Tickets
- Review haul reports and verify pricing
- Enter all hauler timesheets into MS Hauler Timesheets
- Match material invoices with above tickets in Vista by Viewpoint
- Match haul invoices to inventory totals as entered above in Vista
- Organize / retention of above in batch folders as designated
- Send invoices and batches for approval in Docusign
- Retention of Docusign batches
- Match up all TJ Haul invoices to correct daily haul report and verify pricing
- Reconcile month end statements for aggregates vendors
- Contact vendors regarding price discrepancies
- Back up AR Billing for plant customers
- Pick up mail at the Post Office daily
- Request new customers as needed
- Cover front desk during lunch / as needed
- Assists other departments as needed
- Answers to Controller
Qualifications and Skills:
- Basic understanding of accounting
- Basic understanding of sales taxes
- Attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent data entry skill with minimum 50 WPB (alpha) (test on https://typing.com)
- Excellent 10 - key skill with minimum 9500 KPH (test on https://learn10key.com/)
- At least 3-5 years of business experience in a professional business environment
- Motivated self-starter, able to work effectively with all divisions with limited supervision
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Punctual, with solid time management skills (office hours 8 am - 5 pm with some seasonal overtime)
- High School Diploma
- Willingness to be flexible in scheduled hours (seasonally and required overtime during the five business days before month-end close)
- Willingness to be flexible in duties
- Must pass post offer drug screen
- Must pass background check
- Must provide proof of eligibility to legally work in the US.
- All new hires will be processed through E - Verify
- New Hires subject to 90 - day probationary period
