The Exercise Science and Kinesiology (ESK) program, within the College of Education, is designed to equip future exercise professionals with the knowledge and skills to meet the diverse health and performance needs of our population through the integration of coursework with laboratory-based and field-based experiential learning. The ESK program provides a Bachelor of Science degree, with three concentrations (Strength and Conditioning, Sports Nutrition, Exercise and Wellness). The graduate program offers three Master of Science degrees: Exercise Science, Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength & Conditioning, and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health & Wellness.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Doctoral degree in Exercise Science or related field \n
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses \n
- Experience coordinating exercise science laboratories and/or practical settings \n
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students \n
- Record of involvement in professional organizations \n
- A demonstrated commitment to student success \n
- A demonstrated commitment to program, college, and university service \n
- A demonstrated commitment to collaboration \n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in supervising and coordinating field experiences \n
- Successful teaching experience (in both traditional and online formats) in undergraduate courses in Exercise Science \n
- Current certifications from ACSM, NSCA, NCHEC, or other similar professional organizations or interest in attaining similar certifications. \n

The Exercise Science and Kinesiology (ESK) program in the College of Education at the University of South Florida invites applicants for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position beginning in August of 2026. This position is permanent, and successful candidates are eligible for promotion to Associate Professor of Instruction and the terminal rank of Professor of Instruction. We seek candidates who are committed to providing engaging academic experiences that promote student success in and out of the classroom.

This position will carry a 4:4 load (Summer teaching possibilities based on student demand) and will be responsible for delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction across a wide variety of Exercise Science courses. Courses may include, but are not limited to, the following: Survey of Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Exercise Testing and Prescription Lab, Sports Nutrition, Exercise Psychology, Strength and Conditioning, Administration of Fitness and Wellness Centers, as well as courses in our concentrations. Successful candidates may also be responsible for coordinating and supervising field experiences, mentoring undergraduate students, supporting student social engagement such as assisting with the student organization of the Exercise Science and Kinesiology program, being involved with the Living Learning Community in the residence halls, and maintaining involvement in professional organizations.
