Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager
HunaTek is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support projects and employees providing project knowledge, client understanding, financial support and resource services.
Essential Job Functions
The Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager will support the project management team in all activities on the job site. This will include supporting the on-stie project execution team, editing and updating the required project documentation and interacting with the client on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the project manager. This position is responsible for supporting the entire project team.
- Support for overall performance, safety and quality compliance as stated by the client and contract agreements.
- Supports the on time and on budget delivery of projects
- Update and maintain the project plan, alignment of resources, management to deliverable deadlines, and contract management to maintain cost control, schedule, and quality of all activities.
- Track progress of large complex projects or multiple smaller scale projects
- Contributes to project schedules, budgets and expenditures, final reports, and helps coordinate all project notifications.
- Contributes to the maintenance of financial management plans, including cost analysis and forecasting for resources and services.
- Provides programmatic support to clients, including administrative coordination and support of timelines.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, assess needs, and provide strategic advice and recommendations for financial and resource management efforts.
- Collaborate with clients to resolve issues, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with financial and resource services.
- Coordinate with inhouse resources for the establishment of subcontracts, purchase orders etc.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- US Citizenship.
- Able to pass standard facility access background investigation.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to create briefs and interact with leaders/stakeholders.
- Ability to research, analyze, evaluate and present information.
- High level of proficiency of Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel and SharePoint.
- Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience supporting complex construction projects. At least five (3) years of experience must be in the Project Engineer/ Assistant Project Manager role for mid to large scale single projects. At least 3 years of Federal government contracting experience.
- Must be proficient in developing and evaluating multiple financial reports.
- Must be proficient in reading and understanding complex design documents.
- Must have experience with Design Build projects.
- Must be able to manage multiple subcontractors.
- Familiarity with Corps of Engineers 385.1.1
- Familiarity with Quality Control Management Systems
- Ability to clearly communicate with clients in the event of delays, chang orders or extensions
- Reports to Project Manager
Skills and Qualifications Preferred:
- Direct experience supporting the USACE, Coast Guard, NAVFAC or similar organization
- Experience working in a cold weather environment
- Ability to relocate to a job site
- Current USACE or NAVFAC CQM Certification
