As an Associate Business Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting and contributing to business analytics projects and processes. Your work will provide data-driven insights used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data visualization, and expertise in data mapping as part of an implementation team. The ideal candidate will use data to support data-driven decision-making to enhance business strategy and drive efficiency in our organization.
The Associate Business Analyst will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and requirements related to data analysis and reporting
- Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Gather, clean, and analyze data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and external datasets
- Utilize statistical methods, modeling, and analytical methodologies to develop and deploy tools such as workflows or apps, dashboards, infographics, reports, and models
- Create custom reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI/Spotfire, providing key performance indicators and metrics to inform decision-making
- Recommend improvements to data collection and analysis processes to enhance data quality and accuracy
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across different systems and platforms within Operation and Maintenance Teams
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing best practices in data management
- Troubleshooting basic software issues that arise when supporting user base (SAP, ProCount, IOP)
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year experience with SQL for querying and extracting data
- Experience with Python for data cleaning and analysis
The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in data analysis and data visualization
- Knowledge of Power BI or Spotfire for visualization
- Experience with software support - basic troubleshooting
