Requires collaboration with internal attorneys, external counsel, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient case management, meticulous document preparation, and adherence to legal procedures and deadlines.\u003c/p>\u003cp>\u003cstrong>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\u003c/strong>\u003c/p>\u003cp>\u003cstrong>Operational Responsibilities: \u003c/strong>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:\u003c/p>\u003cul>\u003cli>Developing and maintaining a litigation management system to track assignments to external counsel and insurers, to track court dates and all other time-sensitive deadlines, and to log status updates while ensuring compliance with retention policies;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Responding to insurer information requests;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Creating, disseminating and tracking responses to legal hold requests;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Identifying witnesses and documents responsive to subpoenas and discovery requests, securing same, and preparing responses;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Conducting legal research; and\u003c/li>\u003cli>Assisting the Vice President, Chief Labor & Employment Counsel with the enforcement of restrictive covenants involving former TKE employees (non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality and protection of trade secrets) including the drafting of cease and desist letters and tasks related to the management of any resulting litigation.\u003cstrong>\u003c/strong>\u003c/li>\u003c/ul>\u003cp>\u003cstrong>Litigation Management Responsibilities: \u003c/strong>Manage caseload of general liability and commercial claims which requires the following:\u003c/p>\u003cul>\u003cli>Learning the essential issues;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Learning applicable TKE policies and procedures;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Reviewing and analyzing damage information;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Developing strategies for the early and cost-effective resolution of claims;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Retaining and managing external counsel in accordance with the Company's litigation guidelines;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Recommending/approving loss and expense reserves and financial accruals;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Communicating, in writing, with the General Counsel and applicable management regarding key developments and resolution strategies;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Maintaining oversight of the third-party claims administrator;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Preparing and maintaining departmental reports;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Identifying and ensuring that witnesses and documents are timely sourced for external counsel's use in defending TKE's interests;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Analyzing factual developments from claims and lawsuits to determine if there are post-mortem recommendations applicable to Branch, Area, Region and Corporate operations regarding policies, practices and procedures that reduce financial risk to the organization;\u003c/li>\u003cli>Reviewing invoices from external counsel and other legal department vendors and tracking same against budgets; and\u003c/li>\u003cli>Delivering written and verbal presentations/trainings to Branch, Area, Region and Corporate operations regarding such recommendations.\u003c/li>\u003c/ul>\u003cbr/>\u003cp>\u003cstrong>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\u003c/strong>\u003c/p>\u003cul>\u003cli>A JD from an accredited U.S. law school;
