Description
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a BAG (Bulk Atmospheric Gases) Production Technician for our facility in Hamilton, MS. This position will report to plant management. The BAG Production Technician must demonstrate initiative in handling issues, be self-motivated, dependable, and work within a team environment. This role also works to support the site Instrument and Electrical Technician as needed and helps to ensure the facility is ran in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. Successful candidates must be able to understand principles of all government and Linde environmental permits, regulations and policies. This position responds to unplanned events and makes technical decisions to ensure the reliability of the facility and requires a combination of office and field work. This is a full-time position, accessibility/on-call, during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required. Key Responsibilities: - Follow safe work permit processes, policies, and procedures. - Ensure safety and hazard recognition, using Linde's permit to work, is implemented and effective for all personnel involved in your actions. - Review and safely perform lock-out tag-out on equipment and provide permits to work. - Understand and ensure compliance with all Linde and governmental environmental permits, regulations, and policies. - Understand production KPIs and work towards achieving these goals included in individual performance rating. - Understand the theoretical aspects of the process and adjust controls towards achieving desired flows, pressures, and purities. - Utilize Linde's maintenance management program to maintain compliance with associated equipment. - Read, understand, and maintain process drawings and wiring diagrams. - Understand the basis of PLC control loop input-output logic. - Complete basic troubleshooting on instrumentation and mechanical equipment. - Assist in the training and development of new employees. - Ensure customer quality requirements are met for ALL products: maintain Quality Program. - Where required: understand and resolve fill zone and back-up system issues. - Understand what parameters process analyzers must function under. - Complete all LMS training modules and OJT for assigned job per assigned timeline. - Ability to facilitate contractor management to ensure safe and efficient completion of electrical maintenance activities. - Ensure all FDA-QA recurring functional testing requirements are met (i.e. isolation circuit test, etc.). - Maintain critical spare parts inventory for plant systems. - Plan, schedule, estimate costs, procure materials, coordinate, and perform minor maintenance activities for site outages. - Prepare and execute small projects to improve facility availability and reliability. - Support root cause analysis program for routine and/or major failures of plant systems. - Candidate will be required to perform work outdoors in variable weather conditions, and at elevated heights or confined spaces. - Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift, up to, 50 lbs., and work at heights. Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required. - Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred. - Minimum of three years of experience in an industrial environment or working with refrigeration systems is strongly preferred. - Working knowledge of chemical plants, with a preference on industrial gas plant processes is preferred. - Experience with installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. - Working knowledge of hazardous work permits (PTW) and Management of Change (MOC). - Excellent communication, team interaction, and presentation skills. - Self-starter who is comfortable working independently, effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision. - Must have a positive attitude, be willing to quickly adapt to changing situations, and a strong will to build and maintain productive relationships across departmental lines. - Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - On-Call ability required within 24/7 operational environment. Plant emergencies, outages, shutdowns, and turnaround work may require working outside of the normal Monday to Friday schedule. Including nights, weekends, and holidays.
