Description
Position SummaryThe scale worker performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the transfer of finished patties from the freezing tunnels to the shipping boxes, making boxes, scaling packed boxes and palletizing.
Job Responsibilities
- • Job is an individual contributor.
- • Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
- • Set up the code daters as needed for each product according to the production schedule.
- • Monitor and make adjustments as needed to keep the equipment above running according to schedule and specifications.
- • Weigh packed boxes on a scale indicating how many to add/subtract.
- • Document scaled checks as applicable.
- • The employee will be used as Packoff General Utility as needed.
- • Transfer patties from the freezing tunnel conveyor belt to the shipping boxes.
- • Monitor patties for lips, half patties, holes and other defects.
- • Alert Formax operators if patties are defective or too warm.
- • Immediately notify the group leader or supervisor of any food quality issues or foreign objects.
- • Weigh, record, and return defective patties for regrind.
- • Line Packers monitor the quality of the assembled shipping boxes.
- • Reprocess patties rejected by the metal detector.
- • Monitor safety procedures in the packing area.
- • Stack the finished boxes on the pallets.
- • Keep work area clean.
- • Be aware and practice GMPs.
- • This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
- • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
- • 0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.
Preferred Education
- • High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Work Environment
- • Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
- • Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
- • This role does not require any domestic travel
- • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds
- • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
- • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
