PDS Optical is seeking a shipping boxer to help complete our shipping department.

The boxer is responsible for preparing the boxes used for final shipment of eyeglasses and assisting with the distribution of incoming packages.

This is an entry level position with a starting pay of $16.00 per hour with working hours of 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Employees will receive on the job training, while optical or production experience is helpful, no experience is necessary. 

You will receive a free pair of Ray-Ban Sunglasses after 90 days of employment! 

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Construct cardboard boxes for shipment of glasses.
• Collect glasses from shippers and place them in boxes.
• Places mailing label on the packed boxes and places them in a mailing bin.
• Places mailing bins on a skid and wrap them at the end of shift.
• Receive and sign shipments at shipping door or bay and deliver shipments to the appropriate departments.
• Maintain proper inventory of boxes and other shipping materials and communicates to supervisor when more are needed.
• Must be familiar with all shipping processes.
• Lifting heavy boxes and transporting them throughout the Optical Lab 

Work Environment
This position operates in the Shipping Department which is adjacent to an optical laboratory. The temperature can vary, and the noise level can be slightly loud. This position also requires working in close proximity to a diverse group of other co-workers.

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Attendance
This position is Full Time with normal days being Monday through Friday. Schedules and Hours vary per shift and will be determined by management. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of their shift.
