Description
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.Position Summary: Responsible for the hands-on execution of our self-perform Building Management System project team. Must have strong skills in the core competencies of safety, quality, profitability, staff development, trade partner management, and client relations at the project level. Shall own operational excellence for the project. Responsibilities:
- Own the project and lead the team (including owners, install partners, and external stakeholders) in the safe and successful execution of the project. Establish a smart and healthy, client-focused environment and provide consistent onsite leadership.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of the contract documents and establish a plan to implement all contract requirements, including internal policies and procedures and subcontracts. Identify deliverables and monitor performance to ensure all aspects of the documents are met.
- Assign staff responsibilities and develop/maintain staff member responsibilities (using a matrix); identify all contractual and internal requirements. Identify project staff roles and responsibilities to provide clarity to meet these obligations.
- In conjunction with the team, own project schedule and take the lead in developing, executing, and maintaining the schedule through closeout.
- Take the lead in owning all project financials through identifying, recording, and resolving any issue on all reports and projections. Ensure proper cash flow and financial performance.
- Lead the review and analysis for each building component or system to identify risks and provide technical building expertise. Communicate issues to the team including owners, designers, trade partners, and internal stakeholders. Provide guidance on mitigating/resolving risks. Successfully implement self-perform whenever possible.
- Understand the original profit margin plan. Partner with the Project Director to develop and execute strategies to enhance the original margin plan and monitor the effect upon the final profit outcome.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide training to ensure each team member develops to their fullest potential. Communicate ongoing performance feedback to project staff.
- Understand core values and demonstrate them in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including establishing and promoting a positive image of McCarthy within the community.
- 5+ years of Building Automation Experience required
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of a 2-year degree in electronics, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, HVAC, computer programming, information systems or similar technical studies is preferred
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and a desire to excel
- Self-motivated and can work well with others
- Proficient communicator.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Must have a customer focused mindset
- Must have a proven commitment to Safety
- Implementation of detailed workplans and THA (Task Hazard Analysis).
- Must be able to use a computer proficiently
- Must have experience with the windows operating system including the Office software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle
- Minimum age 18
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
- Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties
- Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction
- Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands
- Must be able to reach your hands over your head
- Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
- This position is moderately physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders
- It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 300lb total weight limit
- Must be able to maneuver access areas, as small as 30" vertical x 45" horizontal
- Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15' to 20', and occasionally, up to 50 feet +
- This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location
