Business Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting internal staff at all levels in relation to member-facing business applications system-related matters. The Business Applications Specialist works as part of a team lead by the Business Applications Manager. This position independently manages projects, assists internal stakeholders at all levels and maintains vendor relationships and contacts to address immediate and ongoing system issues. Working as part of a team to maintain, upkeep, and deliver all business applications for the Harvard Federal Credit Union. This is a senior position that handles complex stakeholders, vendors, and business applications, and provides mentorship, on the job training, and support to team members. In addition, the Business Applications Specialist works closely with departments and managers across all Harvard FCU departments to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close technology projects and changes. Ensures successful daily operations of business applications systems and achievement of strategic objectives.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for;
- maintaining and administering, implementing and enhancing various line of business applications/software and vendors.
- user/group administration, security permission setup and modifications across all business applications.
- vendor management as related to line of business applications and/or assisting line of business "application owners."
- for the troubleshooting of software problems related to all lines of business applications. Assists the "application owner" with troubleshooting applications.
- for the modification of company products/services and internal systems in order to meet the needs of the members and/or end-users.
- Coordinates and works as the lead for various projects as related to the line of business applications.
- Works with host providers and other third-party vendors to customize, implement, maintain, document and troubleshoot existing and new applications.
- Supports UUX efforts across all member-facing applications.
- Provides first-level and second-level technical support (i.e. password resets, etc.) for all lines of business applications, and excellent internal customer service and advice.
- Displays and executes logical and complex troubleshooting methods.
- Generates/downloads daily/monthly (EOM file) reports.
- Participates with upgrades and installs for Harvard FCU applications, patches and new releases.
- Participates in cross-functional teams for successful technology project and change outcomes by leveraging appropriate communication channels, outlining and reinforcing roles and responsibilities, and addressing gaps in scope, schedule, and communication as they arise:
- Schedules, attends and may serve as project lead of periodic status update meetings.
- Escalates project and change risks/issues with stakeholders as they arise and carries out tactics to mitigate or diffuse as directed.
- Communicates ideas for improving project and change management processes.
- Assists with execution of project and change tasks as needed/assigned.
- Performs other related functions as required or directed to ensure trouble-free access to information. Subject matter expert of business applications, collaborating with managers and trainers to educate staff on the rollout of new systems and application enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications are the minimum threshold a candidate must meet in order to be considered for this role.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a financial, banking or credit union environment.

- Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week
- Minimum 3 days/month, with occasional Saturday mornings on rotation.
- Core working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- Early mornings, late evenings, or occasional weekend work may be required, depending on business demands.
- Working on holidays may occasionally be necessary, based on business needs.

Work Format Details
This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
