Your Role:
As Business Development Manager, you will lead regional growth initiatives across Quebec, Canada, by identifying, developing, and securing strategic partnerships within the animal health market. In this role, you will turn market insights into business opportunities, expand Elanco's market presence, and help drive revenue growth through partnership development, account planning, and commercial execution.
Your Responsibilities:
Conduct regional market research and analyze customer segments, industry trends, competitive activity, and partnership opportunities across veterinary groups, distributors, technology providers, and key opinion leaders to identify new business opportunities in Ontario.
Lead the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, business case development, proposal creation, contract negotiation, and agreement finalization to secure strategic partnerships and create strong value propositions.
Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in target organizations, while supporting ongoing partner success and identifying opportunities for expansion.
Develop and execute regional business and account plans to achieve revenue and market share goals, including support for large independent accounts and legal entity opportunities.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Research & Development teams to integrate new partnerships, maintain a strong pipeline, and provide regular progress updates and forecasts.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or key account management, with a proven track record of securing significant new business.
Experience in the animal health, pharmaceutical, or related life sciences industry.
Experience negotiating complex contracts and managing strategic partnerships.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or another advanced degree.
Experience developing business cases, proposals, and partnership strategies that clearly demonstrate commercial value.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data into actionable business strategy.
Strong financial acumen and understanding of profit and loss (P&L) implications in commercial decision-making.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information:
- Field time expectation is 2-3 days per week
- Travel time is expected to be up to 50%

Elanco Benefits and Perks:
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $77,800 to $125,000. The actual base salary offered may vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education and experience. Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees. The compensation package is subject to change, and the actual base salary could be higher or lower than the range described above.
