Description
Job Overview: We are currently seeking a Central Control Room (CCR) Technician for the CCR located in Deer Park, TX. The CCR Technician will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of multiple plants throughout the region. The technician will remotely monitor and operate the facilities from the central control room. Scope: The CCR Technician will be the primary board operator for several plants. They will be accountable for ensuring plants are run optimally and responding to all process upsets / alarms accordingly. Strong communication skills are essential as the technician will work with local plant technicians, lead techs, engineers, and management daily. Day-to-day tasks include tracking trends for anomalies, checking all processes of the plants, adjusting plant settings to drive productivity, starting/shutting down equipment as needed, and communicating any changes made to the plants. This role is on a 12-hour swing shift (7 ON / 7 OFF schedule). Primary Responsibilities: - Start up, shut down, and operate the production processes. - Work with the Pipeline Business Center to manage the pipeline as efficiently as possible. - Acknowledge and follow up with plant alarms. - Find inefficiencies and optimization opportunities with the plants. - Assist in day-to-day activities at the plant as needed. - Become a subject matter expert. - Follow SOPs and safety policies for highly regulated plant processes and procedures. - Documentation, logs, and other administrative duties. - Participate in any plant initiatives. - Maintain all Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Compliance activities. Skills and Attributes: - Dependable and honest. - Safety commitment and compliance with procedures. - Ability to learn and understand industrial processes. - Ability to read Process and Instrumentation Diagrams. - Competency with computers, Microsoft applications (specifically Word and Excel), email, and process control computer systems. - Trouble shooting and diagnostics. - Process understanding, process control schematic interpretation. - Communications, both verbal and written. - Self-directed learning. Working Conditions The CCR Operator must be able to sit, stand, climb, walk, read, talk, see and hear to perform the essential functions of this job. Although the CCR operator works primarily indoors in the central control room, they may be required to assist in the field. Additional activities for this job are: - Walking on flat or uneven surfaces and in areas of crushed stone on a daily basis. - Bending, stooping, and working from just above the ground to 6-foot elevation. - Use of stairs, ladders, and scaffolding for elevated work. - Occasionally lift up to 45 lbs. - Upper body work activities, including using wrenches, hammers, and similar hand tools. - Use of chemical personal protective equipment (PPE). - On Call, and required to cover shifts for vacation, sick coverage, training, etc. Qualifications: - High School Degree required - Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred - Must be willing to work a 12-hour swing shift (7 ON / 7 OFF schedule) - Familiarity with PLC or similar control systems is preferred - Understanding of distillation and cryogenics preferred - 2 - 5 years of experience is highly desirable in many of the following fields:- Air separation, oil refining, or similar complex process control operations - Instrumentation and control - General maintenance of industrial equipment - Compressors and compressor maintenance - Industrial mechanical maintenance - Industrial electrical or electrician - Industrial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) - Military technical fields - Machinist Mates, Electrician Mates, Nuclear Technician, Gas Turbine Technicians, Boiler Technicians, Cryogenic Technicians.
