The Role

DTLA Janitorial Hiring Event Correctional FacilityAbout the Hiring EventWe are hosting an in-person hiring event for janitorial positions supporting a Los Angeles County correctional facility located in Downtown Los Angeles.Attendance at this hiring event and employment are contingent upon eligibility to pass a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department background investigation.Location details will be provided to candidates who complete the application and meet all eligibility requirements.Eligibility Requirements (Please Read Carefully)Due to the secure nature of this correctional facility, access is a condition of employment.Candidates must be eligible to:Ability to pass a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department background investigationComfortable and able to work without a cell phone during the shift. Have an unexpired CA State ID or Driver's License.Speak and understand EnglishAdditional OpportunitiesIf you do not meet the eligibility requirements for this hiring event, we encourage you to explore other open positions on our career site that may be a better fit for your background and experience. 
WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform cleaning and sanitation duties in inmate housing units, restrooms, and common areas 
• Clean and disinfect inmate cells, restrooms, showers, and other high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of illness
• Handle and properly dispose of waste materials, including biohazardous or bodily fluids, following approved procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; promptly clean spills in offices and public areas.
• Maintain janitor's closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.  
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
