Clinic Administrator
Position Information: Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing multiple clinical operations and fiscal activities. May be assigned oversight responsibility for auxiliary operations such as physician and patient referral line, shipping and receiving, etc. Provides guidance and consultation to clinic managers and monitors clinical activities through a variety of reports.
Essential Duties:
Coordinates and negotiates secondary agreements with numerous state and federal agencies under University approved guidelines.
Prepares reports including conclusions and recommendations for solution of complex fiscal or related problems.
Handles special projects where a thorough knowledge of the department, University, federal, and state regulations is required. Responsible for ultimate approval or rejection of the project.
Provides clinic coverage as needed by scheduling, completing referrals, and authorizations, checking patients in and out, and completing lab and x-ray requisitions.
Evaluates section operations and implements new or revised procedures.
Directly or indirectly supervises a large staff that may include employees at work sites located throughout campus or at remote sites. Additionally, supervises clinic staff. Responsible for taking disciplinary actions with employees, conducting performance evaluations, and handles personnel issues. Coordinates time reports and leave requests. Completes all new hire information, schedules training, and completes necessary forms. Ensures staff is well equipped to perform their duties.
Assumes responsibility for all fiscal administration of the clinical section. Includes receipt and expenditures of federal, state, and PPP funds. Also includes reconciliation of multiple grants and contracts for the section; performs cost analyses and other studies. Recommends procedural changes as necessary to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field, AND:
60 months experience managing an inpatient or outpatient clinic.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 108 months related experience.
Working Conditions:
Physical: Sitting for long periods of time. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
Environmental: Clinic Environment.
