- Commercial Budget & Vendor Operations Mgr
Description
The Commercial Budget & Vendor Operations Manager will oversee the end-to-end commercial budget tracking, and reporting, and act as the primary owner of agency/vendor financial management (SOWs, POs, invoicing, contract routing, and spend governance). You will work cross-functionally with Commercial leadership, Finance, Procurement, and external partners to ensure every investment is aligned with strategic priorities and delivers measurable value toward product growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Commercial Budget Management & Reporting
- Facilitate annual and ongoing commercial budget planning cycles, partnering closely with Finance and Commercial leadership to define investment priorities and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain detailed budget tracking tools and dashboards to monitor actuals vs. forecast and identify variances early
- Establish processes and operating mechanisms to ensure proactive budget management, including monthly budget reviews and quarterly forecast updates
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize budget utilization and support data-driven decision-making
- Vendor Management, OPEX PO & SOW Governance
- Serve as a financial point of contact for agency partners and vendors regarding SOW and PO development, budget tracking, invoice management, and financial compliance
- Oversee routing, and management of all OPEX Statements of Work and Purchase Orders, ensuring clarity of deliverables, timelines, and cost structures
- Track and reconcile agency fees, project expenses, and change orders to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved scope
- Establish standardized processes, templates, and operating rhythms to improve efficiency in budget management and vendor engagement
- Identify opportunities to streamline spend, eliminate redundancies, and reduce non-working dollars
- Analyze investment performance and vendor value to support decisions on vendor selection, onboarding, and ongoing evaluation
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a strategic partner to brand teams and Commercial leadership, providing transparent budget status, scenario planning, and financial guidance
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations summarizing budget performance, risks, opportunities, and investment impacts
Education & Licenses and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, or related field. 5+ years of experience in commercial operations, finance, marketing operations, or vendor/budget management, biopharma or healthcare experience strongly preferred
Competencies & Skills
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets and financial planning processes with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience developing and managing SOWs, POs, vendor contracts, and agency relationships
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable influencing across teams and levels
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial tracking tools; familiarity with SAP/Oracle/Workday or similar systems a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Travel up to 30%
