Job SummaryThe Commissioning Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that modular data centers are installed, tested, and fully operational according to design specifications and client requirements. This role involves overseeing the commissioning process from factory testing through site deployment, including integration of electrical, mechanical, and IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure readiness.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
System Testing & Validation
- Conduct functional testing of electrical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators), HVAC, fire suppression, and monitoring systems.
- Validate integration of IT infrastructure and network systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed commissioning records, test results, and punch lists.
- Prepare final commissioning reports and handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Who will you report to?
You will report to the Commissioning Manager. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the West Chester, OH facility 5 days a week.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in commissioning, preferably in data centers or critical infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of modular construction and prefabricated systems.
- Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, and other monitoring/control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to deployment sites as needed.
