Description
The Branch Controller will be responsible for monitoring local budgets, costs, sales, expenses and inventory and display a high level of strategic thinking through data analysis to recommend benchmarks used to measure the branch's performance.Essential Functions
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for the local branch level, in conjunction with Corporate accounting department practices
• Implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the branch's performance
• Participates in the production of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management and Corporate office
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Works with Corporate office to provide need information to external auditors
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government requirements
• Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• Current and valid US driver's license preferred
• At least 5-7 years of experience in similar position
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent management and supervisory skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs
