Description
Nature of Work: This position typically reports to a Librarian or other appropriate administrator. The position performs complex and specialized tasks requiring advanced skills in library specialization areas of data and statistical analyses. The position develops, administers analysis's tools for evaluation and assessment of library collections and services Work may involve management of curation systems, creation of a data warehouse on key statistical measures, management of utilization tracking systems, or promotion and systems development to support USF's role as the institutional repository of grant data. The Coordinator, Library Collections requires the creation of new bibliographic data, information analysis, or storage systems.Such decisions have significant consequence of error and meet the FLSA criteria for an administrative exemption. In contrast, the Library Specialist and Collections Specialist classes involve primarily the technical use of existing records. A Coordinator, Library Operations may supervise temporary or student employees. However, supervisors of permanent staff will generally be classified as Manager, Library Operations. The Coordinator, Library Operations does not have the faculty (University Librarian) roles of teaching, research, and service.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with two years of work experience in a library. Appropriate college coursework may substitute for the required experience.
- Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements. A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

- Data Curation and Analysis: Collects, combines, analyzes, and presents, including visually, data from vendors, publishers, and library systems to inform collection enhancement and discovery. Manage systems that track client use of resources. Monitor trends and usage of library content, creating and maintaining a data warehouse for key statistical measures. Acts as a liaison between the USF Health colleges and the bookstore in textbook affordability initiatives, particularly related to textbook availability and usage. Accuracy is critical; must be familiar with the current library services platform serials, acquisitions, and electronic resources modules and maintain statistical usage dashboards for a variety of library materials.
- Serials: Utilizes e-resources management systems to track resources and assist with keeping electronic journal and database access links up to date in the current library services platform and website.
- Electronic Resources: Troubleshoots electronic resource access issues, including authentication issues and communicating with vendors, when necessary, to facilitate discovery and retrieval.
- Perform Passport Service functions as part of the USF Health Libraries Passport Program. Functions may include conducting appointments, taking payment, mailing applications, follow-up with clients, and periodic training/re-training.
- Archives & Special Collections: Responsible for proper organization and storage for archives and special collections, including digital. Assist in the processing of archives and special collections, and development of workflows and policies. This position may be required to learn archival techniques and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
