We are seeking a Corporate Sanitation & Food Safety Manager to join our hard working and fast-paced team. The Corporate Sanitation & Food Safety Manager will play a critical role in ensuring our bakeries maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct annual bakery audit inspections, focusing on cleanliness and sanitation programs. Support bakeries in implementing exceptional cleaning procedures and improving efficiency.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce cleaning time while maintaining effectiveness.
- Manage corporate vendor contracts related to pest control, uniforms, laundry services, sanitation chemicals, and similar needs.
- Audit Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) programs to ensure thoroughness and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in scheduling sanitation crews to optimize coverage and operational efficiency.
- Develop and manage sanitation training materials tailored to specific job roles within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Collaborate with the Corporate Engineering team on capital equipment selection to support sanitation and food safety initiatives.
- Work with bakery Sanitation Managers and staff to address safety and food safety concerns.
- Continually review and develop food safety/sanitation procedures, standards, and policies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and codes.
- Assist bakeries in complying with food safety regulations during federal, state, local, and private inspections.
- Assist bakeries in addressing food safety incidents by determining root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Adhere to the Company's Core Values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in food safety/sanitation within a commercial food manufacturer.
- A minimum of 10 years in a food safety/sanitation leadership role.
- A Bachelor's degree in food science, quality systems, or equivalent qualifications preferred, or a willingness to obtain one.
- Proficient interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A proven track record of safe work history.
- Ability to adjust schedule to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced certifications such as HACCP, PCQI Trainer, Food Fraud, Food Defense Coordinator, and SQF Practitioner, preferred
- Experience in analyzing budgets and assisting departments in maintaining them, preferred.
- Experience working with union employees, preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus
