- Corrosion Technician - Williston
Description
Position Description The corrosion technician provides technical support for operations personnel, corrosion technicians, pipeline integrity, DOT compliance, and execution and maintenance of the corrosion control program.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Implements current industry best practices and procedures as related to corrosion control and mitigation.
• Ensures all cathodic protection installations are in compliance within NACE and O&M procedures.
• Gathers corrosion field data for designing and installing new installations.
• Ensures that all corrosion records are kept and maintained in accordance with O&M procedures and DOT requirements.
• Participates in federal and state audits.
• Participates in Integrity Management Plan implementation.
• Keeps up to date with industry trends and compliance regulations as pertaining to corrosion control.
• Conducts facility inspections, documents findings, and prepares reports for management.
• Prepares reports and documentation and makes recommendations as required.
• Develops and maintain policies and procedures for effective implementation and management of the company's corrosion control program.
• Ensures contractor and company personnel are in compliance with Operator Qualification requirements on regulated facilities.
• Keeps updated on new and existing computer programs available to monitor and maintain corrosion control programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education and/or experience:
• High school degree and 3-5 years of experience in corrosion control related field
• Must be familiar with basic operating principles of natural gas, NGL, and crude oil pipelines
• Ability to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Knowledge of U.S. Department of Transportation safety regulations and ability to interact with regulatory personnel

Certificates, licenses, registrations:
• Valid state operating license with acceptable driving record

• Regularly bends, stoops, moves from ground level to higher levels, raises/lifts from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transports a load up to 75 lbs., and applies up to 150 foot pounds of torque.
• Regularly gets into and out of vehicles and rides over rough roads.
• Walks an average of 5 miles per day, up to 7 miles per day.
• Candidates may be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Subject to overtime and callouts.

• Works mostly outdoors, in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment.

• Wears safety equipment as required.
