Position Overview .
The Customer Service Rep will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound communications to and from internal and external customers in a detailed, timely and professional manner. This role will involve order entry responsibilities and the management of our delivery schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving inbound calls from customers and entering orders into our point of sale.
- Order entry accuracy to avoid delays and financial loss.
- Utilize dispatching software and GPS tracking software.
- Monitor deliveries to ensure demands are met while maintaining efficiency.
- Communicate with the operations team on changes and future needs.
- Notify customers in advance of late deliveries or delays in service.
- Compile daily trucking demands from all stakeholders.
- Scheduling internal and external drivers for deliveries.
- Reliable attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is required.
- Previous related experience in dispatch for construction or transportation industry preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to interact and clearly communicate with internal and external personnel, customers and supporting agencies.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and computer skills.
- Ability to accurately log loads, tickets, and delivery confirmations.
- Prioritization of tasks to keep deliveries and projects on schedule.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
- Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations
