Description
The Day & Student Life Support Specialist provides frontline support for day students and their families by assisting with front desk operations and contributing to student life programming. This role ensures that day students feel welcomed, supported, and connected while on campus. In addition to primary responsibilities, a flexible and dependable team member, cross-trained and available to assist across a wide range of Student Life responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist day students, parents, and visitors at the front desk.
- Help manage check-in/check-out procedures and ID/key tracking
- Provide accurate information to the appropriate staff or department.
- Assist with maintaining organized records, logs, and communication materials to support daily operations.
- Support staff in planning and executing events, activities, and initiatives that encourage day student and parent involvement.
- Assist in set-up, logistics, and communication for programs
- Provide a welcoming presence and serve as a resource for day students who have questions or need guidance.
- Help with orientation for new day students and families.
- Work as part of the Student Life team to support student success and well-being.
- Assist with communication and coordination between parents, students, and staff as directed.
- Provide support coverage for Student Life staff during PTO, illness, or peak workload times in dorms and Campus Center, including for activity counselors as needed (possibly routinely).
- Adapt to changing needs and step in to assist colleagues in various areas when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in administrative support, student services, or customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Experience working in a school or student-centered environment preferred.
- Comfort with basic office software and communication tools.
- Supportive Mindset reliable team player who assists colleagues and students.
- Customer Service Orientation approachable, helpful, and solutions-focused.
- Dependability follows through on assigned tasks with consistency and care.
- Flexibility & Adaptability able to adjust to shifting priorities and step in where needed.
- Collaboration works well with staff, faculty, students, and parents.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
- Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
