Now Hiring: Director of Staff Development (DSD)📍 Western Slope Health Center - 3280 Washington St, Placerville, CA 95667
Hourly Rate: $45-$50/hr DOE
Schedule: Full-Time

Western Slope Health Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD) to lead education, training, and professional growth for our care team. This is a key leadership role that directly impacts staff success, regulatory compliance, and the quality of care we provide to our residents.
What You'll Do
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver facility orientation, in-services, and ongoing education programs
- Develop and maintain annual and monthly in-service training schedules
- Ensure compliance with state and federal training and certification requirements
- Coordinate fire, disaster, and emergency preparedness drills
- Identify education needs through surveys, evaluations, audits, and facility rounds
- Maintain accurate training and in-service documentation
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development initiatives
- Participate in facility surveys and regulatory inspections
- Supervise and mentor staff, supporting performance improvement when needed
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing and Administrator
- Provide direct resident/patient care as needed
- Uphold confidentiality and promote a positive, professional learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Current, unencumbered RN or LVN/LPN license in California (BSN preferred)
- CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience in a long-term care setting
- Minimum 1 year of experience in staff education, training, or program development
- 2+ years of experience in long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of PCC strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to maintaining continuing education and license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
