Description
Summary: The Distribution Support Technician provides operational and administrative support to the regional distribution team. This role is responsible for driver training, fill zone operations, cryogenic distribution support, and backup driving to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following: Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. - Assist the Distribution Superintendent with one-on-one safety communications and customer site surveys. - Follow all safe work permit processes, policies, and procedures. - Understand and comply with SMP, SOP, COP, OSS, OPS alerts, and Technical Bulletins. - Ensure customer quality requirements are met for all products and maintain the Quality Program. - Review QA logs and Certificates of Conformance (COCs) for accuracy. - Complete all LMS training modules and on-the-job training within assigned timelines. - Troubleshoot fill zone and backup system issues. - Deliver driver training for site product handling and Smith System safety program. - Serve as backup in-cab driver trainer and road tester for prospective drivers. - Act as a backup driver, including shuttling drivers and tractor-trailers when needed. - Safely transport tractor-trailers between company locations for maintenance. - Load trailers with product to ensure readiness for scheduled routes. - Assist mechanics with trailer purging and commissioning into service. - Review dispatch lists, verify trailers, and fill to optimum capacity. - Maintain communication with logistics and report operational issues promptly. - Assist with loading product into customer and competitor trailers to ensure safe handling. Qualifications: - CDL Class A license with Tanker (N) and Hazmat (H) endorsements. - Basic knowledge of cryogenic gases and related safety protocols preferred. - Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. - Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and work in confined spaces. - Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: - 3-5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or cryogenic operations. Preferred Qualifications: - CDL Class A license with Tanker (N) and Hazmat (H) endorsements (required, but advanced experience preferred). - 3-5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or cryogenic operations. - Familiarity with Smith System driver training methodology. - Advanced knowledge of cryogenic gases and related safety protocols. - Ability to troubleshoot fill zone and backup system issues effectively. - Strong organizational skills for managing multiple operational tasks. Working Conditions: - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and work in confined spaces. - Required to wear PPE at all times during operations. - Work may involve outdoor environments, exposure to cryogenic materials, and on-call driving or training support. Competencies: - Strong attention to detail for QA testing and documentation. - Effective communication and teamwork for coordination with drivers, logistics, and supervisors. - Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and respond to operational issues promptly.
