- EHS Specialist - OKC

Job SummaryThe EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture across facilities. This role provides leadership, training, and technical expertise to minimize risk and promote continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ).
- Lead safety training programs, including classroom and field sessions, and provide ongoing coaching to employees.
- Conduct facility and equipment inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation.
- Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and prepare detailed reports; track and analyze trends to drive preventive measures.
- Manage regulatory reporting, permit applications, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain accurate records in EHS management systems, including Learning Management and Incident Management platforms.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to integrate safety into daily activities and strategic planning.
- Support workers' compensation and insurance programs, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incident rates and enhance overall safety performance.
- Minimum associate's degree in safety, Environmental Science, or related field; 3+ years of EHS experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record.
- Certifications such as OSHA 500/501, CPR/First Aid, Traffic Control and Driver Safety Trainer preferred; ASP/CSP a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for training and meetings.
- Ability to analyze incident data and recommend corrective actions.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on compliance and operational needs.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Move in and around confined spaces and uneven surfaces.
- Climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and steel framework.
- Work extended hours as needed.
- Respond to voice commands, alarms, and job-related sounds.
