Description
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing, tracking and monitoring the company environmental/ safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health & safety regulations in the Field and Manufacturing Plant.CORE TASKS:
- Implement and administer safety program at each job site for all employees. Assist site management team in developing and executing site-specific safety program and activities.
- Coordinate, conduct and implement safety orientation and training for manufacturing, field operations and sub-contractors.
- Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc,
- Conduct, implement and coordinate job site audits to ensure company and regulatory requirements are being met and report findings to the management team.
- Conduct or assist with major incident investigation and analysis.
- Conduct or assist with risk assessments
- Record, monitor and analyze safety, injury and hazard statistics;
- Coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.
- Participate in and contribute to project planning and hazard analysis.
- Assist with the organization and implementation of project safety celebrations and recognition/reward programs.
- Provide support in both field and manufacturing safety excellence. 50% field work 50% manufacturing.
- Manage multiple contractor documents and pre-qualification requirements.
- Develop toolbox talks to field managers weekly.
- Report all field data to the EHS manager.
- Be open and available to travel when necessary
- Contribute to implement the Safety Culture inside the company
- Act as a "Role Model"
Expert Know How/Knowledge:
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
- Technical knowledge preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience building relationships
- Thorough knowledge of environmental, safety, OSHA regulations and compliance;
- Detail oriented; sufficient to manage multiple priorities and project/task.
- Leading multiple contacts and managing safety data for multiple sites.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Proficiency with MS excel, word, power point.
- Knowledge in best practices and behavioral based safety implementations.
- Knowledge of Safety techniques for: accident investigation, risk assessment, JHA, etc.
- Passion for Safety
- Integrity and reliability
- Ability to build partnerships (internal / external) and influence skills
Languages: English. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Expected (Educational) Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent
- Certification in Health & Safety a plus (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Master Certification in Environmental Health & Safety)
- Train The Trainer certifications is a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in the Environmental Health and Safety profession
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing/Shop Employees
- Warehouse/Manufacturing environment, working and walking around moving equipment and on concrete flooring
- Limited time spent in an office environment
- Non-air conditioned and limited heated environment
