Description
Position SummaryThe Financial Data Analyst compiles, develops, and interprets financial data to support forecasting and modeling. This role conducts in-depth, moderately complex technical analysis to evaluate past and current financial performance. The Analyst gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial activity, trend-based requirements, and forecasts. Additional research or studies in manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement, or other areas may be required.
What You'll Do
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to monitor and communicate business performance.
- Prepare and review month-end reports and journal entries as needed per GAAP.
- Work with minimal supervision, receiving guidance primarily on goals and objectives. Independently define work scope based on short- and long-term department goals.
- Analyze financial reports and operating procedures; strategize improvements to business operations.
- Assist with project management for identified initiatives.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Test business processes and recommend improvements; identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Generate reports and conduct research as assigned.
- Write and optimize SQL queries; utilize Microsoft Excel extensively and leverage other Microsoft Office tools.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or data analytics within a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of general manufacturing operations and procedures.
- Proven ability to analyze problems and develop effective, efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in applying existing processes and procedures to questions; resourceful or able to seek guidance for non-routine problems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) and proficiency with SQL or other relevant data tools.
- Experience collaborating with and supporting various internal customer groups.
- Excellent organizational skills with a track record of managing complex, detailed information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI.
Physical Requirements
This position primarily operates in an office environment (on-site or remote) and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, as well as occasional walking, standing, or light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
