Description
The Food & Beverage (F&B) Supervisor is responsible for assisting the F&B Manager and Golf Club leadership team in the facilitation and execution of banquet events, catering services, and supervision of current and future restaurant outlets. This position handles BEO creation, staff communication for catered events and works closely with the client in ensuring their event exceeds expectations. The F&B Supervisor will also assist in other areas of the department such as supervising the restaurant outlets as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients to understand banquet event requirements, preferences and expectations
- Handle client inquiries promptly and professionally, providing solutions and recommendations
- Develop and draft Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for all banquet events and functions
- Plan weekly BEO meetings to ensure all staff are knowledgeable about upcoming events
- Collaborate with the sales team, F&B Manager and Executive Chef to ensure seamless event execution
- Plan, organize and direct banquet staff to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction
- Maintain effective communication with guests and internal partners to ensure expectations are met
- Assist in supervising the restaurant service staff and ensuring service standards as needed
- Assist leadership in monitoring and managing event budgets
- Identify new opportunities and effective strategies to increase business
- Responsible for controlling costs while delivering excellent service and events
- Host prospective clients on site to learn about our Golf Club programs, amenities and menus
- Oversee the setup and preparation of banquet spaces and oversight on event day(s)
- Maintain the cleanliness of banquet facilities and adherence to safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain a high level of understanding of programs at the Golf Club and IMG Academy
- Assist in the day-to-day business-related activities of the Golf Club as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1+ year of related experience at a supervisory level or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage areas with emphasis on service standards and employee training
- Experience managing staff and customer expectations
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Strong passion and knowledge for culinary excellence and customer service
- Excellent customer service attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Superior work ethic with the desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying trays of food and drinks
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
