Forklift Operator - Shipping & ReceivingEFP, LLC / La Vergne, TN
1st Shift: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm - Starting at $20 / hour
JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Team Member plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain process within the facility. They ensure that products are received, processed, and shipping efficiently with a high degree of accuracy. Additional duties include moving material around the facility and loading / unloading trucks. In addition, this role may package/band, weigh, and load/unload material from machines and trucks, staging material in a timely and accurate manner.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the receipt and shipment of products, materials, and supplies. This includes unloading trucks, sorting items, preparing outgoing shipments according to customer orders and related paperwork.
- Work closely with logistics personnel, customer service representatives, and other departments to coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Unloads incoming vehicles and prepare necessary receiving documents after carefully counting the merchandise.
- Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Safely operates all the necessary equipment in work area. This includes stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
- Provides on the job training to new employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in shipping and receiving
- Able to fill in for the Team Lead in his absence
- Skilled in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and oral
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Mount and dismount forklifts throughout the shift
- Occasional squatting, kneeling, bending and stooping
- Lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing up to 30 lbs.
