This position offers a competitive base pay and is eligible for the Company variable pay (bonus) plan. Benefits start first day and include insurance, paid time off, and various customer discount programs.
The Doe Run Company is currently seeking a General Supervisor for the Maintenance department to coordinate and communicate all maintenance activities for assigned underground and surface sites to meet site maintenance and operational goals safely and efficiently. This position is based out of our Buick Mine/Mill in Boss, MO.
The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and collaborate on daily maintenance activities by providing equipment needed to meet or exceed short-term operational goals and production needs.
- Train, coach, and manage performance of direct reports, including Maintenance Supervisors or other maintenance personnel to ensure safety and productivity goals are met or exceeded.
- Prepare and utilize reporting to ensure maintenance goals are being met and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Plan and execute maintenance projects and programs that help sustain good maintenance practices for both surface and underground.
- Monitor budget and track costs to ensure the maintenance group operates within the approve budget guidelines.
- Work with vendors to provide improved performance of equipment through the use of new products and materials.
- Maintain EHS (environmental, health and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or operations maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical or maintenance related training and certifications preferred.
- Valid, current driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, budget, maintenance planning systems, and HR systems (Adaptive, I-Series, PeopleSoft, Tableau, and UKG).
- Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance for both surface and underground equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management.
- Proficient Knowledge of MSHA regulations.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to use a computer/tablet and phone/radio; Rarely required to use hand tools and cutting/welding tools.
- Frequently wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, fall protection, hearing protection, and eyewear; Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to outdoor weather conditions, and wet, humid (non-weather) conditions, work in extreme heat and/or cold conditions (non-weather); Occasionally required to work underground. May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, talk, and hear; Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
- Rarely required to lift up to 75 pounds.
