- Grant Coordinator
Description
The grant coordinator will serve as a staff position in the Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy (MCEE) providing professional administrative support and financial grant management to facilitate provisions of services and resolve problems; provide expertise on grant/project terms and conditions; be the liaison to the MCEE Dean and finance director, the Office of Research Services, and Research Financial Services.
Essential Duties:
- Provides management, administration and/or analysis research grants and contracts within the college.
- Collects and analyzes data and prepares financial reports for research grants or contracts.
- Monitors financial and budgetary systems for the grants in MCEE to insure proper allocation of expenditures and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Balances all accounts and prepares monthly financial statements.
- Generates reliable cost information to be used in preparation of new or modified budget proposals.
- Assists in the preparation and administration of grant budgets and preparing follow-up reports as requested throughout the year.
- Coordinates with University administration offices regarding financial practices.
- Assists with development and modifications to accounting systems.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, AND:
- 24 months financial, budgeting or accounting experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to build rapport with faculty, staff, and students.
- Able to communicate directions and expectations effectively.
- Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
- Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner.

- Standard office environment
Departmental Preferences:
- Certified Research Administrator.
- Experience with Peoplesoft Financial System.
- Two year of grant management experience.
Supervision: No Supervisory Duties.
