Description
This position requires a Master's degree in an appropriate are of specialization and one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years experience at the high school level or above. Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one year of the required experience.Requires: Criminal History Background Check - Level 1
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

This job description does not constitute an employment contract.Lead the development of a sports program that challenges student-athletes to improve and succeed individually and as a team. Head coach is to have comprehensive and functional knowledge and experience of the sport to support using independent discretion and judgement as to the methods of teaching student-athletes rules and fundamentals, position details, game strategies, etc. during planning/preparation and execution of practice sessions and competitive play of respective sport. Must ensure that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Oversees student athlete's athletic performance training and physical health in coordination with assigned strength coach and athletic trainer to ensure student athletes receives appropriate training, education and guidance in the areas of nutrition, strength training, injury prevention, injury rehabilitation/restrictions etc. Responsible for continual assessment/evaluation of student-athlete progress of skills, knowledge, taught techniques and execution of learned skills by reviewing game/practice video, observations during game and practice sessions, etc. and uses discretionary judgement to identify weaknesses and to make necessary adjustments to instructional techniques, training, assigned player positions etc.
Develops effective recruitment strategies. Assists in the scouting and recruiting of potential student athletes. Attends games and/or tournaments to identify talent and evaluate prospective student-athletes.
Oversees promotional and fundraising activities as well as the teams' public relations work, community involvement and volunteerism. Directs all fundraising efforts in coordination with the Bulls Club. Manages overall budget for the program.
Ensures program adheres to all NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules and regulations
Performs other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
