WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assembles fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and completes units
- Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Conducts welding, riveting, and trimming of parts to fit or align components
- Uses hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other assembly equipment
- Regularly stand while performing job duties
- Use hands frequently for handling, adjusting, or assembling parts; reach with hands and arms
- Walk, sit, talk, and hear regularly
- Lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally
- Maintain required vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and a usually moderate noise level while performing this job
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; able to write basic correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small-group settings with customers, clients, and coworkers
- Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve routine problems involving multiple concrete variables
- Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to perform all essential job duties reliably and effectively
- Commitment to safety, including wearing safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, completing forklift training when required, using proper lifting techniques, participating in hazard-communication training, and understanding emergency procedures
