Description
The HTC Nurse will work in a Federally Funded HTC at the University of South Florida. USF HTC is an adult treatment center and provides care to adult patients across the nation. The nurse will work as a member of the HTC's multidisciplinary team. The responsibilities will include coordinating patient care in conjunction with other team members, providing education about bleeding and clotting disorders to patients and families, health care professionals, schools and community members. The nurse will work collaboratively under the clinical and administrative guidance of the USF HTC Director and Division Administrator.- \n
- Current RN license in the State of Florida \n
- Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S. \n
- SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements \n
- A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: \n

- (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; \n
- (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree; \n
- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree; \n
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or \n

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and two to four years of clinical/ administrative experience, preferably in medical practices and/or academic medical practices, and a minimum of one year of supervisory experience. \n
- Hematology and Bleeding Disorder experience is highly desired \n
Special skills:

- Experience in IV medication administration \n

- Patient Care and Case management for the hematology and bleeding disorder HTC patients, plan of care coordination and facilitation, education and support to patient and their families, work within a multidisciplinary team, and telephone triage. \n
- Complete prior authorization for procedures and medication \n
- Manage patient communication, including in-basket messages and follow-up coordination. \n
- Provide patient and family education on infusion techniques, medication management, and care. \n
- Enter patient data in the American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN) Database. \n
- Coordinate and Strengthen Transition Clinic \n
- Develop, implement, and track Quality Improvement Projects \n
- Patient education and continuing education programs about bleeding and clotting disorders \n
- Participate in research and support clinical trials within the HTC. \n
- Participate in Bleeding Disorder conferences \n
- Community Outreach \n
- Other HTC-related duties \n
