Description
The Human Resources Specialist provides administrative and operational HR support to the Division HR leadership team and Orkin teammates. This role serves as a primary point of contact for routine HR-related inquiries, including policies, procedures, benefits, and employment programs, while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable employment laws.
The HR Specialist supports data integrity, reporting, onboarding processes, leave administration coordination, and issue resolution with professionalism, discretion, and empathy. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive, compliant, and service-oriented workplace culture aligned with Orkin and Rollins' core values.
Subject to current business needs, this position may be performed as a hybrid, flexibility is available. Up to 20% annual travel is required domestically.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive employee and business information.
- Serve as a point of contact for teammates regarding HR policies, programs, and procedures; respond to inquiries or escalate issues to appropriate subject matter experts as needed.
- Assist with employee onboarding processes, including rehire eligibility verification, orientation coordination, and benefits enrollment reminders.
- Support HR reporting and data preparation, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, metrics, surveys, and terminations.
- Assist in analyzing HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights to the HR leader and business leaders.
- Conduct routine audits of employee and people-related data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide administrative support for all divisions' leave of absence management, in coordination with HR and operations leadership when required.
- Prepare and distribute employment status notifications (job abandonment, failure to return from leave, employment status changes, etc.) as directed by HR leadership.
- Coordinate the collection and delivery of documentation requested by Rollins Legal or other internal partners.
- Manage and triage HR-related communications received via email, phone, Microsoft Teams, or other platforms, ensuring timely follow-up or appropriate reassignment.
- Actively listen to teammate concerns and provide guidance or support within assigned authority or under HR leadership's direction.
- Maintain accurate HR records, files, and documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Provide feedback and recommendations related to HR processes, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide backup administrative and operational support to HR leaders as needed.
- Participate in department meetings, training sessions, and initiatives focused on continuous improvement and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or similar HR support role.
- Experience in a multi-site, service-driven or field-based organization is preferred.

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a hybrid or remote work environment.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer and using office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
- Ability to move throughout office environments and attend meetings.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of office materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel to multi-state branch offices or off-site meetings as required.
