In addition, we provide global field service maintenance and repairs for wind turbine OEMs and asset owners by leveraging our global footprint and approximately 12,000 capable associates.
About the Role
At our manufacturing facility in Newton, Iowa, the Interpreter/Translator facilitates effective communication throughout the organization by converting spoken messages or written text from one language into another language (English and Spanish). This role plays a key part in driving a culture of engagement, safety, and operational excellence to meet the business units' operational and financial objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Minimum High school graduate; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Convert concepts in the source language to equivalent concepts in the target language.
- Relay the style and tone of the original language.
- Render spoken messages accurately, quickly, and clearly.
- Convert written materials from one language into another language (English and Spanish).
- Perform simultaneous interpretations during New Hire classes, All-plant meetings, roundtables, benefits meetings, etc.
- Perform administrative duties as necessary in support of training and human resources.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Minimum High school graduate; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Speak, read, and write fluently in English and Spanish.
- Computer proficiency including MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal/sensitive information.
- Ability to convert written materials from English to Spanish and Spanish to English, preserving style, tone, meaning.
- Ability to interpret spoken communication (simultaneous and/or consecutive) during events such as orientation classes, meetings, etc.
- Cultural and linguistic sensitivity-knowing how to render idiomatic expressions, tone, register appropriately between languages.
