Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Functions
Assist with histological analysis of mouse tissues, microscopy, and biochemical assays (e.g., Western Blotting, ELISA, PCR, ddPCR, NULISA). Support in vitro and in vivo experiments, maintain transgenic mouse colonies including husbandry and genotyping, and process human and mouse samples for studies. Responsibilities include database entry, training in cell sorting, Next Gen sequencing, transcriptional profiling, histology techniques, and confocal microscopy.
Physical Effort
May be required to stand or move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 10 pounds.
