The position requires experience in working with and carrying out in vitro immunology based experiments using immune cells derived from human blood products. The work will be done under BSL2+ conditions and will involve isolating and characterizing cells from HIV-infected individuals. Experience with cell isolation techniques, multi-color flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine ELISA, and cytotoxicity assays are essential. Experience in single-cell RNA-seq analysis will be considered as a plus. The candidate should be able to plan and carry out experimental work and troubleshoot independently. Ideally, the candidate will have at least a BS degree with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience or graduate degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant field of study.

Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.

This position requires a high level of mobility, manual dexterity, visual acuity and basic computer skills.

This position requires that the applicant travel between laboratories, campus buildings and to sit or stand at a laboratory bench for extended periods of time.
