The Department of Classics at Princeton University has an occasional curricular need for lecturers to support undergraduate teaching needs in various areas, including Roman History. Any appointments and duty time are subject to curricular demand and course enrollment.Duties could include:*Leading undergraduate discussions and precepts*Attending course lectures*Meeting regularly with course instructors*Holding in-person office hours on campus*Grading assignments, exams, and papersAny appointments would have an expected start date of January 16, 2026, for the Spring 2026 semester (ending July 1, 2026), with the possibility of renewal depending on departmental need. Expected Salary Range: $81,700 - $86,000

The University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements as applicable, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
