Description
Position SummaryThe Maintenance Director oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, safety compliance, and vendor coordination. This role ensures the physical environment meets regulatory standards and supports the comfort and safety of residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations, including life safety codes and OSHA standards
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff, fostering teamwork and accountability
- Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs, inspections, and capital projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions
