Description
Position OverviewThe Maintenance Supervisor at our Winslow, Indiana manufacturing facility plays a hands-on leadership role and manages maintenance activities that keep the plant running safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This Supervisor is responsible for improving overall cost and efficiency performance by increasing equipment uptime and maximizing asset life. The Maintenance Supervisor combines technical expertise with strong leadership to maintain property, plant, and equipment in a productive, efficient, and safe manner.

Key Duties
- Lead, monitor, and develop the maintenance business process to ensure it effectively meets safety, environmental, and production goals.
- Supervise a team of seven maintenance technicians and coordinate with outside contractors to complete specialized or large-scale maintenance projects.
- Schedule daily, weekly, and long-term preventative maintenance and repairs of plant processing equipment, including autoclaves, boiler systems, mobile equipment, land, and structures.
- Lead and coordinate inspections, service, and repairs of all facility equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and pressure-treating systems.
- Lead and manage CAPEX and construction projects, including facility, equipment, and property improvements, ensuring completion within budget and schedule guidelines.
- Ensure safety compliance across all maintenance work, including oversight of employee and contractor training (Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, PIE, and other safety programs).
- Provide hands-on instruction and support during training, troubleshooting, and emergency situations.
- Monitor and maintain mechanical and electrical spare parts inventory and supplies.
- Purchase materials and equipment for repairs and installations through the company's electronic purchase order system.
- Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes, source replacement components, and coordinate repair or installation services.
- Help advance new components and technology into operations to improve reliability and eliminate recurring problems.
- Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs, ensuring timely inspections, lubrication, and testing of plant and treating equipment.
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance employees, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support plant improvement initiatives, contributing maintenance insight to facility upgrades, process optimization, and capital projects.
- Communicate effectively with production, treating, and quality teams regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and operational impacts.
- Participate and contribute to company safety programs and initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; experience with pressure-treating or other process-based industrial equipment is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in P&ID interpretation, CAD, and maintenance management systems (AMMS or FMX preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft operating systems, including strong Excel and general computer literacy.
- Skilled in all current welding methods and capable of providing hands-on technical support when needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large CAPEX projects, meeting scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Experience managing contractor and employee safety training programs (LOTO, Confined Space, PIE, etc.).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, with practical experience improving maintenance processes.
- General experience across manufacturing, quality control, safety, and production environments.
- Experience in wood manufacturing, with understanding of chemistry, wood grading, and blueprint reading.
- Strong management, planning, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proven abilities in coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Availability for on-call support or off-hours response when required.
