- Maintenance Technician
Description
Looking for a Maintenance Technician in our Staten Island facility.Salary range - $35-40/hr depending on level of experience.
The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing various types of equipment and assisting other team staff with specialized tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on various equipment.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on various types of equipment used in wastewater treatment. Typical tasks involve checking/changing oil, checking belt tension, changing air filters, etc…
• Performs corrective preventative maintenance on various types of equipment used in wastewater treatment. Typical tasks involve pulling pumps from tanks or vaults, repair & replacing PVC pipework, Installing new equipment, etc…
• Assists other Maintenance Technician team members in performing various projects and tasks.
• Assists in training new team members. Assists with project scheduling and team management as needed.
• Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion. Orders materials.
• Removing snow from roadways inside building complex.
• Cleans shop area.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License. Preferred - Training in confined space entry and/or 40 hour HAZWOPER training.
Technical: Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet & CMMS Systems. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of mechanical & hydraulic systems troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Knowledge of hazardous material handling.
Communication: Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive internal & external customer experience. Maintains composure in challenging situations. Collaborates with others. Asks for constructive feedback. Communicates detailed information.
