The Team
The Manager, Legal Operations plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic alignment of the Legal team for Alvarez & Marsal Holdings, LLC. This individual will oversee operational processes, manage key projects, and provide executive-level support to the General Counsel. The role requires a highly organized, strategic thinker with experience in legal operations, project management, and cross-functional collaboration, particularly within a dynamic, client-driven environment.
How you will contribute:
- Legal Strategy: drive strategic initiatives across the Legal Department, ensuring alignment with the firm's business strategy and client service delivery.
- Operational Execution: Identify and manage performance improvement opportunities aimed at optimizing workflows, processes, and technology supporting legal department operations.
- Resource Management: Ensure legal team is resourced appropriately and act as the point of contact for hiring, onboarding, and championing the professional development cycle, including identifying trainings, to support fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Spend Management: oversee budgeting, financial planning, and vendor management, ensuring cost-effective legal service procurement.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional and inter-department projects, collaborating with other functions and teams across the firm to drive organizational effectiveness and execute key strategic initiatives.
- Communications: Conceptualize and draft internal communications, emails, presentations and other correspondence to support risk management and strategic and operational efficiency on behalf of the General Counsel.
- Technology: Leverage existing technology, identify new technologies and implement tools to increase business intelligence and efficiency.
- General: Act as a trusted advisor to the General Counsel, providing insights, reporting, and support on strategic legal and operational matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or combination of education and commensurate work experience required. Prior legal services experience preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in legal operations or relatable business operations, ideally within a consulting or professional services firm.
- Strong understanding of legal processes, procedures, and technology.
- Proven ability to manage financial planning, budgets and vendors.
- Exceptional project management, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including firm leadership and clients
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and drive results in a high-pressure, client-service-driven environment.
- Unimpeachable integrity and excellent judgment.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $125,000 - $165,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
