JOIN THE TEAM- 2ND SHIFT OPERATOR IN LANCASTER, PAWe are seeking a detail-oriented Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for weighing, mixing, and filling molds with raw materials according to specifications to produce tile products. The position also involves inspecting finished products for defects, verifying measurements, and ensuring quality standards are met. Additional responsibilities include cross-training in other production functions, assisting with SOP documentation, prepping molds, inventory data entry, participating in safety meetings, and performing basic preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate press machines to produce material into tile form:
- Perform visual inspections and preventive maintenance on press and mixer at the start of each shift.
- Set computer systems for raw material formulas.
- Weigh and pour materials into molds, rake evenly, and apply top skin as needed.
- Remove finished products, trim edges, and stack pallets according to quality standards.
- Clean tools, mixers, presses, and work area at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; report maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to quality guidelines by checking products for defects, proper size, and delamination.
- Cross-train into other job functions and assist during downtime.
- Enter production data and work orders into ERP system; print manufacturing receipts.
- Participate in routine safety meetings and follow all safety protocols.
- High School Diploma/GED or 4+ years of machine operator/manufacturing experience.
- English fluency (read, write, speak).
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Comfortable with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.
- Safety-conscious and able to work overtime as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (bending, reaching, climbing, etc.).
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous fumes, extreme temperatures, loud noise, and dust.
- Required PPE: safety glasses, steel/composite toe boots, ear protection.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating machinery.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
- Manual dexterity and effective communication skills.
