Job Overview:
The Mechanical Assembler I plays a vital role in the assembly, testing, and maintenance of mechanical equipment within a shop environment. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and quality standards while utilizing a variety of tools and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform assembly and finishing operations on mechanical parts according to product specifications and engineering drawings
- Prepare parts for painting and preservation and execute painting operations.
- Conduct functional tests as required and maintain a neat and organized work area.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and report any discrepancies or safety concerns.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repairs.
- Ability to work in a production environment and perform physical tasks.
- Willingness to work with noise, dust, and liquids typically present in a production environment.
- Ability to occasionally work with computer equipment and use personal protective equipment.
- Willingness to work multiple shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with hand tools and operation of pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
- Valid driver's license.
