Responsibilities
The Business Development Director is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships, driving revenue growth, and expanding SAM's presence within designated markets. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), this role partners closely with executive leadership to develop and execute sales strategies, enhance client engagement, and achieve annual business growth goals.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Vice President and Regional Operations Director to create and implement sales plans that align with regional growth objectives
Develop performance goals and provide leadership for Business Development Managers
Oversee all business development activities to meet or exceed annual revenue and growth targets
Report regularly on pipeline progress, client outreach, and marketing initiatives
Identify and cultivate new client relationships to expand SAM's market presence
Provide executive-level consultation to clients, guiding them on brand development and service solutions
Collaborate with SME staff to develop compelling proposal content and creative deliverables
Develop strategic proposal and pitch approaches based on RFP requirements and client needs
Work alongside senior leadership to coordinate pitch teams and presentation strategies
Support client meetings by conducting background research, defining approach, and determining profit margins
Represent SAM and SME areas of expertise at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
Prepare accurate business development forecasts and track key performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, or equivalent education and experience
- Previous experience in similar industry sales success
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Capable of working both individually and as a part of a very dynamic team of professionals.
- Above average leadership, attention to detail, and organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills
- Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
