POSITION DESCRIPTION
As the National Practice Lead for Smart Buildings and OT Cybersecurity, you will shape the future of intelligent building technologies and secure operational systems across diverse environments. This role is at the intersection of digital transformation, sustainability, and advanced automation, driving innovation that enhances building performance, resilience, and security.
You'll lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs, from strategy through implementation, ensuring cutting-edge solutions in Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) and OT cybersecurity. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to design smart, secure, and connected spaces that deliver measurable business value.
This position demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory compliance, and industry standards, combined with a proven ability to deliver ROI-driven solutions. You will play a key role in business development, guiding proposals, shaping technical strategies, and influencing stakeholders in both public and private sectors.
Essential Duties
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage large-scale technical projects from inception to completion.
- Lead technical strategy and delivery of smart buildings systems, BMS/BAS integration, and ICS/OT cybersecurity across major scale projects in different market sectors.
- Drive business development and client engagement, supporting proposals, solution development, and positioning the firm as a market leader.
- Provide subject matter expertise on intelligent buildings technologies, cyber risk mitigation, and digital transformation in the built environment.
- Develop and mentor technical staff, ensuring capability growth, knowledge transfer, and overall team performance.
- Advance practice innovation, identifying emerging technologies and implementing best practices to enhance project quality, system resilience, and market competitiveness. Develop and implement cutting-edge technologies across intelligent buildings and smart real estate industries.
- Oversee data governance and automation system development.
- Align stakeholders and select independent technologies to meet project goals.
- Deliver presentations and educate staff on project management and technical solutions.
- Track and manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and implement energy conservation measures (ECMs) and advanced metering solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Identify key clients and opportunities to drive intelligent buildings practice growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions that exceed their expectations.
Experience
- 10+ years related experience in the consulting engineering industry with a focus on buildings (Architecture, Telecommunications or MEP engineering thought leadership roles).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, Mechanical/Electrical/Structural/Fire Protection/Civil Engineering (or related field.
Preferred Certifications / Technical Knowledge/Credentials
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- PMP, RCDD, PE (Engineering License) - Preferred
- CISSP, GICSP, or equivalent OT cybersecurity certification.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISA/IEC62433, NIST, and Uptime/mission critical standards.
- Certified in at least three major control system manufacture platforms.
- Extensive experience in intelligent building and smart real estate industries.
- Proven track record in project management, data governance, and automation system development.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder alignment skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $149,000 to $195,000 annually. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills-internally and externally-are essential.
