- Serve as the subject matter expert on ALLETE Clean Energy's compliance efforts relating to FERC and NERC electric reliability and have a working knowledge of the critical infrastructure protection (CIP) standards.
- Support and provide guidance to assigned facility personnel with all FERC, NERC and Regional Reliability Entity issues that impact facility operations.
- Review, interpret, and disseminate requirements to ensure compliance with standards and rules.
- Keep facility personnel and department current on issues and trends that contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's compliance program.
- Integrate existing technology applications and platforms into compliance program processes to effectively manage and organize documentation.
- In parallel with NERC compliance needs, assist in the needed maintenance, repair, and operational oversight of wind generation site substations and electrical equipment, including reliability programs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Degree in engineering or related discipline preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Four years or more NERC compliance-related experience required
- General knowledge of power plant operations (particularly renewable facilities), including the interrelationship of registered entity functions, and compliance with operation and maintenance functions.
- General knowledge of FERC, NERC and Regional Reliability Entities orders, regulations, standards, and working knowledge of monitoring and reporting requirements
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Strong proficiency with spreadsheets, database applications, and document management software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Visio application
- Skills in the use and administration of SharePoint
- Requires a highly self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships throughout the company and to motivate others to contribute to the company's overall culture of compliance.
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- The expected annual compensation range for this position is $98,000 - $122,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
