- NIWC Woodcraft Worker (Documented Disability Required) - GSI (M - F, Paid Federal Holidays)
Description
Position SummarySets up and operates woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from woodstock. Trims component parts of joints to insure snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
Essential Duties
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Supports Goodwill's mission, and implements Goodwill's core values of commitment, learning, innovation, integrity, respect and teamwork.
2. Maintains familiarity with and performs functions of position in assigned operational area in accordance with the current Contract and Task Order Performance Work Statements.
3. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
4. May be required to operate forklifts
5. Stows hazardous and flammable material per NAVSUP PUB 505 and CFR 49 PART 100 through 180.
6. Adheres to all recycling procedures.
7. Responsible for general housekeeping of assigned areas.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 Years' experience in related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check. Additionally, must be able to pass a federal background check as required.
• Ability to read blueprints, measure fabrication materials, identify various materials for construction of wood containers, use saws, planers, sanders, drills, etc.
• Must have demonstrated skill to assemble/fabricate wooden containers, mount out boxes, stands, chests, skids and platforms.

This associate may have access to Confidential Information (CI) and is required to be familiar with the Goodwill Privacy policy 10.23 related to the handling of CI, and follow all related procedures required to protect the privacy and security of CI.
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions
• The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• There are no special work conditions for this position.
