Description
The USF Department of Otolaryngology Fellowship in Facial & Plastics Reconstruction is a non-ACGME accredited fellowship requiring an M.D. or D.O. and successful completion of Otolaryngology residency.Must be a graduate of an approved professional degree program in the appropriate health discipline and have completed residency training within a selected area of specialization, including research and/or clinical training in specialized areas.\n
Must be licensed or eligible for a full Florida medical license in their primary specialty and qualified to function as an attending physician.
\n
This Advanced Fellowship training will usually follow the completion of clinical training in preparation for an academic position or subspecialty certification.
\n
Due to the requirements of this class code, holders of J-1 visa are not eligible for an appointment using this code.

This job description does not constitute an employment contract.The Fellow will attend clinic with Attendings and perform surgery both with Attendings and independently.

Fellow will be expected to teach the Residents in rotations as well as direct research projects and publications.
\n
Any potential candidate would be expected to contribute to the medical literature, write abstracts and present at pertinent society meetings, and foster the research interests of the residents.
\n
The Fellow will learn specialized techniques and treatment with regards to Facial, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. S/he will have independent clinics and perform operative cases when approved by the supervising physician (Dr. Julia Toman).
\n
Responsible to a licensed health care practitioner or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a medical or professional school of a state university.
\n
Responsible for clinical activities relating to the advanced fellowship training program.
\n
Responsible for conducting research in specialized areas of health care, and for writing reports on research objectives and results.
\n
May participate in teaching activities.
\n
May provide services under a Professional Services Agreement that clearly distinguishes services from those within the advanced training program.
